Early morning on the day after the crash was as good a time as any to set to work; when Leela’s consciousness drifted slowly back into her, that was her first thought. Even so, she laid still for a few moments, watching the light change on the ceiling of their temporary shelter. It was almost overwhelming, how much work they had to do to ensure everything ran smoothly as they worked out how to make Cernnunos work for them. Not quite enough to crack her composure, but it had her thinking nonetheless. What would survival out here, in the unknown, take from them?
With that cheery subject rattling around in her head, she rolled out of her sleeping pallet and tugged her uniform on (now that was a problem they really needed to deal with, the clothing and sanitation issues), marching out of the shelter as soon as she had her hair secured behind her head. “Calloway!” she called to the open air, assuming her second in command was still asleep–which, in hindsight, was probably a bad judge of her character whether or not she was still sleeping. “Up and at ‘em, come help me start separating out the rations. We need to have this finished as soon as possible. You'll have a lot of fun with me, I'm sure,” she added, tone dry.
