The autistic/anxiety urge to sit down and make lists and plan everything out and make sure I know about any possible problems BEFORE they blindside me
vs
The frustrated, impatient urge to say "JUST FUCK IT" and run in with ZERO (0) planning or prep whatsoever
FIGHT!
...okay, but in reality, a *lot* of life looks like it has binary choices like this (you must do A or B, there is no option C), and that is a LIE.
Find the middle option, I am BEGGING YOU. Realizing that binary options are often extremes, and that you CAN pick a middle option (even if you have to make it yourself) is SO HELPFUL.
Also, please be aware that the middle option on the gradient scale between Extreme A and Extreme Z which works best FOR YOU may not be the best option which works for someone else.
You might really like Option K. Someone else is like "hmm, P looks pretty good for me." And as long as you aren't hurting anyone, that's great! Maybe ask why they like P so much, you might learn something! If nothing else, you'll understand that person and their concerns better!
This PSA brought to you by someone who grew up with an "uncontrolled anxiety, my way is Always Best" mother.
Anyway. Life lesson over, go back to scrolling.
