Ne = Reshaping & Revising Constantly
People new to MBTI often don't realize how much Ne reshapes things on the fly and/or changes them significantly as it revises what it creates; this is both how it works in a writer sense, and how it works in a "this is my life" sense. Ne will start out with one thing, and find it a good idea, but within one rewrite or a couple of days, it's another thing. Doing this successfully in the present moment while interacting with it is one way you can tell a high Ne from a low Ne. Lower Ne goes "but what else would this change / what problems does it create with what exists now (Si) but high Ne goes "let's just go with this and see what happens."
A good example of this is in the Stranger Things concept -- how it started out a coastal town, morphed into Hawkins Indiana; how Steve was originally supposed to die in season one, but the writers saw how likable the actor was and kept him on for five seasons; Steve was also a complete jerk, but they softened him a lot after casting the actor; the writers went on to rewrite/recreate the back story of the show as the seasons went on... this is both the series' strength in seasons 1 and 2, and a problem later, as Ne got out of hand and they stopped being able to eliminate characters and keep the story small. ("We won't add any more new characters..." > goes on to add more new characters.)
Living with high Ne is both fun and a challenge, since things totally shift from draft to draft, both in a writer sense and a lifestyle sense. What felt important yesterday is insignificant now, and has been re-imagined or approached from a different perspective. It can be maddening for people dealing with ENPs, because they are forever inconsistent, changeable, and offering up new ideas before their family and friends are able to process the last one.
