I just learned that apparently it’s based on true story O.o
that doesn’t mean very much to me coming from hollywood tbh. and listen, there is certainly some way they could pull it off in a non-problematic way. AND i’m not going to make a complete judgement until i see it. but the media has a pretty solid history of falling back on problematic tropes of mental illness to make the plot sexy or intriguing, and THAT’S what has me suspicious.
