2. Why we haven't found any traces of ET intelligence so far
I know of the Fermi’s paradox which says the conditions for existence of extra terrestrial intelligence are great, but there is still no sign of it, which is odd.
Some may say it doesn’t exist, but many things go against this. Others say the aliens all destroyed themselves.
I have two ideas that I favour. Both of them assume the ET intelligence is incredibly advanced and capable.
1) The Zoo hypothesis, says that they know about us, but are avoiding us to give us the chance to develop ourselves. If they interfered, they’d strip us of our own potential solutions to many obstacles, such as interstellar travel, communication, etc. If they introduced us to the hypothetical community of very developped alien civilizations right now, we’d bring with us our problems which we still haven’t solved. It is logical to leave each civilisation to grow and mature on its own, and overcome the danger it poses to itself. If it survives this, it shows it is worthy and stable enough to enter the community of hyper-advanced civilisations.
2) They just don’t know about us and vice-versa. We are only able to send radio-waves into space, to use them as a tool for communication there. But they are not very efficient. I will check later and update, but I think that since the time we began emmiting radio waves, they’ve not even reached the nearest star system. Or they reached a tiny number. Perhaps the ET intelligence is using a different method of communicating, one that we still don’t know how to hear. We still haven’t discovered it yet, proving that we still have to develop. And the ET probably don’t listen to radio-waves because they’d rarely hear anything, before the sending civilization fell to ruins.
EDIT: I posted this on the wrong blog. This belongs on my blog where I categorize my questions. ^-^’
