Hey folks! Happy weekend! I've found the will to investigate why some of my lots aren't loading, so hopefully I'll be fully operational soon. In the meantime, I found these pics I've been holding onto for forever. I had plans to integrate them into the story later, but who knows if I'll ever find a place for them. So, enjoy "Nick's Bad Day!" 😁
Looks like Nick is feel confident and ready to shred this role to bits.
On second thought, he's not looking so confident. Maybe he's just nervous.
Didn't help that the stylist started fangirling. Nick is like we're on the clock please be professional.
Nick's co-star didn't think he was all that and was going to prove he was not as good as everyone says.
He was mean mugging and sighing all dramatically throughout the whole scene. Nick tried to ignore it at first, but it really threw him off his game. Eventually he had to ask what the deal was. The guy said he didn't like him and thinks he was better suited for the role but they gave it to Nick because he is Nick. After all, he didn't even have to audition. There were so many things Nick could say, but in the end he just told the guy they are here for one reason, so he needs to put his feelings aside and be professional.

Nick did his best to take his own advice, but in between takes he wondered why the guy was so uptight and ready to ruin this film. What had he done to make him so upset?
Nothing, Nick. Some people are just haters.
After a while, Nick had enough. He demanded to know what his issue was and scolded him for not doing his job, and if he hated being cast with him so much, he should go home because there are plenty of sims out there who would love a paid gig like this. His demands and admonishments fell on deaf ears.
Finally, the fight scene! Nick was good and pumped. He was ready for blood. Let's hope those swords are fakes!
The swords were fake, but they sure were heavy. The co-star could not contain himself and felt vindicated.
Luckily for them, that was the end of their scene, and Nick couldn't get away fast enough. They called a break so the on-site medical staff could check him out. They put some ice on his little tootsie and he was all good after lunch. Unfortunately for Nick, yet another unenthused co-star sauntered onto the stage.
"Are you a professional?" Nick asked lol.
That man just wants to get his check and go home, bro.
ACTION!
CUT!
With the kiss scene up next, and the previous shenanigans in his head, Nick was not so confident and wondered if it was a mistake taking this gig. Maybe Melany was right. Why does he work so hard? He achieved everything he wanted to achieve save winning an award for a lead role in a major film. Their lives are stable enough. He doesn't have to respond to every call. But he's here and still has a job to do, so he shook it off and got back into character.
ACTION!
"WHY'D YOU TOUCH ME LIKE THAT??"
"Wha... That's not the line."
The guy kept going on and on about how uncomfortable he was with Nick and not getting paid enough for this forbidden word.
"Didn't you read this script?? This is a love scene! How else am I supposed to touch you?!"
Nick is so tired of these unprofessional, unmotivated actors with all their hateration and holleration. He definitely should have turned this one down.
Awww, it's okay Nick! You can't win them all. Everyone has a bad day every once in a while.

I keep forgetting I have a baby (possibly 2!) to name lol. I have a few ideas for Anissa's baby, but I would love to hear yours before I settle on one. What kinds of names do you think she and Jorden would throw out?

I love a home with family photos all around. It was always my dream to have a house with pictures on the wall. I have a house, but this is very much the digital age womp womp lol. My sims carryout that dream for me. I'm trying to get better at taking in game pictures to put on the walls and watch their lives progress in the background. Speaking of the background, here are closer views of the photos in the Murillo household in case anyone has ever wanted to see what's in the blur lol. The one in front on the first pic is the latest edition from the super lame football contest.
Memories!!
Luca still has the photobooth pics with Yasmine in his inventory. I personally keep them because they are super cute lol. But, on principle, should Luca delete it?
Delete or keep?
Keep! We don't waste good pics in this house.
Delete! It's disrespectful to Sophia.
Keep! He probably forgot he had them. They're not hurting anyone.
Delete! We don't need Desi asking questions when she inherits his inventory.
I've been asked many times about my presumed "magic sauce" when it comes to making sims. I've made videos and have had countless conversations on this topic. All the advice I have given still stands, but I have a much quicker way to explain how I create such unique looking sims now, and the great thing about it is it has nothing to do with skin details and overlays. The quick version of this revelation is, it's all about the eyes and nose! (and sometimes the eyebrows) Lips can play a large part in a sim's uniqueness as well, but I find there isn't much you can do about them without sliders and skin details. If you want the deets about eyes, noses, and eyebrows, keep reading.
There's nothing inherently wrong with these two sims. I think they're cute! But the problem is, I've made sims that look like them 8,000 times, and I'm sure you have too. You've certainly seen these sims all over the community. They have very common features (common in our community, not real life lol). My issue--the reason I stay in CAS--is I don't want common. I want her...
And him...
...And her too!
Contrary to what you may think, my sims are good looking before I add skin details because I take the time to make them unique. The details enhance their uniqueness; it doesn't create it. Here is a vanilla sim I actually prefer without details to prove it. (He's on the gallery, btw.)
The only difference between these sims and the first two are their eyes, noses, and sometimes their eyebrows. To explain, I will break this down in two methods to cover the breadth of simmers out there. Read whichever section pertains to you or both to get all the CAS tea.
Modded CAS:
For those who enjoy skins, presets, and other CAS mods, this is for you. There are a handful of mods that have made my CAS experience 10,000x better. One is More CAS Presets by zerbu. Some people have reported problems with this mod for a few years including myself, but for me the issue turned out to be other mods related. It's all good over here now! Anyway, more CAS presets means more opportunities for uniqueness. You will find eyes, noses, heads, ears, lips, jaws, and chins you've never seen and never thought possible. I use my modified random method almost exclusively these days. I say modified because after I roll 5 times, I often keep rolling until I see something I like: that uniqueness I'm looking for! I don't like using the same features over and over because I don't want my sims to look related, and when I find myself reaching for the same things, I force myself to keep scrolling or trash the sim.
Another type of mod I enjoy is sliders. If you enjoy making sims of color, sometimes sliders are the only way to get the job done because the game will only allow you to stretch but so far. My favorite ones are mouth scale by teanmoon and septum & nostril nose slider by obscurus. I have many more sliders installed, but those are pretty much the only ones I use these days.
Vanilla CAS:
If you're a vanilla player, or even a modded player who doesn't like CAS mods, this part is for you. You don't need mods to create unique sims! You just need to be willing to do a little work. Edit every little detail that can be edited. Even if it's just a little bit. Go into Detail Edit Mode and adjust those eyelids and nostrils. The game may only give you a handful of presets, but that won't stop you from making unique sims. One of my favorite moves is pulling in the lower eyelids toward the nose, creating a subtle squint. I also like flaring the nostrils on noses that should have flared nostrils. You will be surprised how different a nose can look if you simply rotate it up or down. That's how Nick got his nose! I usually wouldn't use that nose on black sims because in its default state, it looks very European. But at the time, I was mass producing sims for Melany to meet when she got to university, and I didn't have time to handcraft 50 sims. Most of those sims (Anissa included) I made using my random method with very slight modifications, if any. In Nick's case, I didn't want to roll a different nose, so I challenged myself to find a way to make his nose usable. I scaled it up, flared the nostrils, and rotated it up a bit, and man oh man did I fall in love with his nose! It's one of my favorite things about him.
Eyebrows:
Many of my sims have nice, thick eyebrows because I'm personally a fan IRL--probably because I don't have any lol. Most of the time I just pick something that matches their face, but often times eyebrows, like beards, can change a sim. They also sometimes inform about the character. For example, all of my glam girls have really nice, sleek, neat, perfectly trimmed eyebrows. They look like they get threaded on a strict schedule lol. That could give you a clue about their personality. On the flipside, if a female sim has bushy, messier eyebrows, what does that say about her? Maybe she likes herself in her natural state. Maybe she doesn't care about her appearance. Maybe she's just a hairy sim and she comes from a heritage of sims who have naturally thick eyebrows. There's so much you can learn about your characters without even leaving CAS if you pay close enough attention.
Here's a sim from above as I was working on her. See if you think her personality or even ethnicity changes with different eyebrows.
That's it! I hope this helps someone. I wrote this a while ago but decided it would be easier to show in a video, but of course I never made it. I'm a video editor IRL, so even though I have a 50 mile long list of videos I want to create, I rarely feel like recording and editing videos after doing it all day, so I decided to give up and just post this lol. At least for now. I still want to do the video, but you guys shouldn't have to wait for me to get it together to get the knowledge.
