It had been a slow day in the household: Belldandy cooked and did laundry, Keiichi fixed his motorcycle and Urd managed her stock of potions. Skuld wasn't far behind on this view of normalcy--after an hour or two of watching her old mecha shows, she took to maintaining her lab.
Parts accounted for, blueprints redesigned, reorganization of the lab's structure...yes, all was in tip-top shape for the time being. Cleanliness wasn't an issue, as inventors usually had messy places, but it was always good to know where was what once in a while.
Then an odd creak occurred.
It sounded as if it came within the temple, but she knew that right about now, Keiichi and Belldandy were in the living room and Urd was--well, Urd was watching whatever dumb show she watched at this time of night. Was it Peorth? No, that goddess from a rival agency would've been heard. Loud and clear.
So...what was it?
Needless to say, the small goddess stepped out of the temple carefully. Something was niggling at her.
"Come on," she beckoned to the robot outside the door. "We gotta make sure your intruder alert's working. We don't want any surprises!"
