“Every sunset brings the promise of a new dawn.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson This was the FIRST SUNSET of 2021! I usually like to rotate the locations I photograph. But for four outings in a row I've somehow ended up here at the Seacliff by the Cement Ship for some reason or another. I didn't want to go there last night simply because I had just been there. We were running late and couldn't get to a different beach in time for the sunset. I told my family I was just going to eat our picnic dinner and watch the waves. I said, "I'm sick of shooting that old ship. I have a million shots of it" But as soon as I was out of the car I had my Nikon around my neck and said, "Well, maybe just a few more"... Here is one of the "few more." There is something hauntingly beautiful about that old Cement Ship that I find fascinating. She pulls me to her. Last night I learned to be ok with where the sunsets take me, even if I feel like I've been overshooting the location. Super Low King Tide at Natural Bridges Those of us who are familiar with Natural Bridges know that this vantage point and being able to walk around, up to and under this rock arch is a rare thing.
