Living Like a Local in Malta: Tips & Advice
How to live like a local in Malta? - Malta is a small country or archipelago located in the southern Mediterranean Sea in Europe. This country is a beautiful blend of nature, history, and culture. If you want to see the beautiful sights here and you have made a plan to visit or live here, then to spend time here like a true Maltese, you have to keep many things in mind and consider the tips and advice given by us -
1. Learn the basic language of Malta –
In Malta, two languages , Maltese and English, are most spoken, so you won't have any trouble living there, getting around or communicating with people. Therefore, you will not face any problems living there, roaming around, or conversing with people. But if you live here, you can learn some local basic words like "bongu" (good morning) or "grazie" (thank you), which will make you happy and you will not look like a stranger among the people. By doing this, you will not have any problem. You will also have the opportunity to learn more languages. Another name of Maltese is Il-l-Ispirtu ta' Malta. Here you can find a mix of cultures like Italian, English, French, Semitic, Arabic. You will not have much difficulty in conversation here because most of the people here know English.
2. Use the country code -
If you want to call Malta to get any information, to talk to your friends here, or to contact your family members, then definitely use the Malta’s country code 356.
3. Knowledge of the pace of life –
As you're familiar with the rest of Europe, you'll notice how fast-paced the lifestyle is there. However, apart from this, you'll also get to know the lifestyle of Malta. Here, there is no crowd and noise like in other countries. The atmosphere is very calm and loving. People here make time for their friends, even when busy at work, whether it is sitting together, drinking coffee, or laughing while walking. The lifestyle here also includes going on a walk with your family and spending time. The lifestyle here may seem very slow to you but this is a perfect way to strengthen relationships and enjoy small moments.
4. Detailed Time in Malta –
CET is used in Europe, and since Malta is part of Europe, it also uses CET. This means the time zone is UTC +1 for standard time and UTC +2 for daylight saving time. Due to the different lifestyle from the rest of Europe but the time in Malta feels a bit different or the pace of life here is slow because people here start their day at 7 to 8 in the morning and have lunch between 12 to 2 which is a very long time and the dinner time is 8 o'clock in the night and at this time many restaurants are open for eating. Outside the restaurant, tables are also kept for eating with excellent decoration.
5. Enjoy the outside world
People in Malta like to spend most of their time outdoors, especially in the evenings. During this time, people want to relax and enjoy sitting on the beach because the beautiful beaches, rocky bays, and natural parks look even more attractive in the evening. If you are looking for things to do in Malta, you must visit places like Golden Bay, Comino, or Gozo. You will experience extreme peace and relaxation here. Apart from this, the best way to connect with the fantastic natural beauty of Malta is to go for a walk at sunrise or sunset, swim in the water, and do other beach activities like sitting on the shore and sunbathing. You should also try playing with sandy soil and spending some relaxing time without any worries, which will make you very happy.
