Netflix Announces “Exploding Kittens” TV Series and Mobile Game
Netflix has announced a new mobile game and animated TV series based on The Oatmeal’s Exploding Kittens card game.
Exploding Kittens - The Game will have the same gameplay as the card game. The mobile game will feature two exclusive cards - Radar, which reveals the position of the Exploding Kitten closest to the top of the deck, and Flip Flop, which reverses the order of cards in the deck. The game will have single and multiplayer options. Future cards and game mechanics will be themed around the new animated series.
Exploding Kittens - The Game will release to Netflix members, with no additional fees or in-app purchases, in May 2022.
Exploding Kittens, the animated series, will star Tom Ellis, Abraham Lim, Lucy Liu, Ally Maki, Mark Proksch, and Sasheer Zamata. Shane Kosakowski and Matthew Inman serve as showrunners. The “eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell reaches epic proportions when both God and the Devil are sent to Earth - in the bodies of chunky house cats.” (Netflix)
Exploding Kittens the series will release on Netflix in 2023.
