skyrim and skybuckets
Did I ever tell you the beautiful story about the time my brother was playing Skyrim and a bucket dropped out of the sky? Because this story is really important to me and I need to do it justice.
So my brother was in a town, minding his own business, when the fight music cued up, signalling a villain in the area. He started scanning the skies for a dragon, kind of confused because the town had just had a dragon attack a little while ago, and then this bucket. just. falls out of the sky. This bucket falls out of the clear blue sky on a normal day in Skyrim and attacks him by which I mean it rolled away and the fight music stopped. He was assaulted by a falling bucket from the sky. No explanation.
But that’s not the end of the story! Because, you see, my brother went into amateur detective mode and a few streets away towards the edge of the town, he found a dead wolf. And that’s when he remembered that he had the exploding chickens mod on. It’s a great mod, everyone should use it, because it’s very lowkey and understated. It has no particular effects on gameplay except every now and then when you forget and let harm come to a chicken. And then they explode. As chickens are wont to do.
So it turns out that he’d been close enough to the edge of the map that a wolf had wandered into the outskirts of the city from the forest and started attacking chickens, cuing the fight music. And of course, the chicken had immediately exploded, killing a wolf and sending a nearby bucket flying skywards.
....I really, really love this game.
