16 pamphlets/interviews 9 tattoos 4 portraits 3 haircuts research: April 3-9, 2019 @Para//el Performance Space in Brooklyn, NY The presentation of "research" will be performed at 7pm on Saturday, April 13 at Para//el performance space (104 Meserole St. Brooklyn, NY 11206) "Affaction Substantiation: Transactive Social Intimacy + the Intentional Transmission of Affect(ion)" is an experimental philosophy project performed socially and intra-personally. Research into "affect transmission" is performed through two intentionalized performance processes: 1) free tattoos, haircuts, or portraits are offered in exchange for recipients discussing their theories about and experiential relations with their own emotions and completing a diagrammatic interview-booklet 2) a report is performed that abreacts, distributes, and substantiates arrays of these theories and relations. Throughout, "research" and "transaction" are both framed as intimate relationships between fields of feels, self-recognizing persons, and intentional performers. Affaction Substantiation: Transactive Social Intimacy + the Intentional Transmission of Affect(ion) is a part of Affaction Research Center (ARC), an ongoing project that works to structurally materialize social, affective, and personal forms of philosophical thinking. Affaction processes affectionately and affectively deliberate how and why we each feel and think the ways we do, asking how ways of feeling and thinking together can assist us in decolonizing and decapitalizing "philosophical" knowings and other property-based knowledge-productivities. During the weeks of April 2-13, Affaction Substantiation: Transactive Social Intimacy + the Intentional Transmission of Affect(ion) will particularly deal with "rage" and how enragements, ragefulnesses, and ragings are seen, felt, and socially (de)valued.
