* Oh, um, hi, Glitchy. Didn’t expect to have you dropping in anytime soon… much less to ask me for any sort of assistance. You okay there, pal? ‘Cause you don’t really seem to be acting like yourself… I mean, not that I’m complaining, but still.

       “ Glitchy? I’m not-- ” 

oh, right. It took a second for the thought to hit again and there’s a slow ‘breath’. The skeleton relaxing shoulders as he looked up to Expy once more. Anubis had to be careful or else this might turn out ... bad. And he didn’t need a FIGHT accidentally happening. ( not as if he could actually FIGHT without Expy initiating it, but, still. )

It was really easy to get lost around here; from what they remembered of the Ruins, there weren’t so many twists and turns and… Well, ways to get lost.  Placing a hand on the lavender brick to steady themselves and drawing it back as soon as they felt the coldness.  Rubbing the white chalky dust off their hand as soon as they could, don’t think to hard exactly about what that was, Frisk had forgotten about that particular new feature about the Ruins.  Coupled with the silence, cold, and the specter-like quality most monsters here had, the Ruins no longer felt as welcoming as it used to.  Then again, it hadn’t been as welcoming for a long time, ever since they had woken up to find that the world had changed so much.

Welcoming, not so much, but it was far from frightening; Pat was somewhere here as well, but he seemed to like wandering alone in the Ruins and Old Home.  And Chara seemed to frequent the patch of yellow flowers at the start of the maze, the thought causing Frisk to reach up to touch their own flower pinned to their hair. Then again, Chara didn’t seem like someone who was particularly nostalgic.  Tapping the ground with their stick; some of the leaf piles below the floors were not so great at breaking falls anymore, Frisk paused for a moment. They swore that they heard…  Well, it wouldn’t be the first time they had imagined something.  “Is someone there?”  It felt so odd saying that, but after the silence, it was the sound that was new.

How dare this little brat show their face around here? Sure, it’s practically an inevitability that he would see them in some fashion outside of the judgement hall, but that didn’t mean that he had to like it. In fact, knowing Glitchy, there essentially wasn’t any way that he would like it, especially with them managing to mouth off even when he had a knife held to their throat. (Admittedly, it was a safety kitchen knife; Anubis didn’t dare stock more deadly knives in his kitchen considering the more unsavory courtmembers’ penchants for violence). But, he had to admit, he was torn between feeling angry and far too amused for his own good as they taunted him in a tone that implied they knew aaaall about him when it couldn’t be further from the truth.

Regardless of his current emotions, that comment about the Judge Code had him backing off, huffing in aggravation and annoyance at being reminded that he couldn’t actually do anything in this scenario but talk... Unfortunately for them, talking was one of the things he delighted in doing the most after becoming the corrupted little glitch that he was now.

“Image? High horse?” He repeats with only the greatest amount of smug scorn he can muster up, which turns out to be quite a bit. “Ah, I see what’s going on here. You don’t know just who I am, do you? Well, yes, I’m a Sans, but only in the most technical of terms at this point. I slaughtered my high horse and submerged my good image in its blood back when I killed off my home timeline. I utterly delight in causing mayhem, chaos, and murder when I can. I am nothing like any Sans that you may have met, I can assure you that much.”

30 UNCOMMON CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS ( SEND ME A NUMBER )

(1)What position does your character sleep in? ( i.e; stomach, side, back, etc. ) Describe why they do this — optional.

Determined by where and when they are sleeping. If they are in a safe location, they usually sleep on their side and watch their SOUL until they fall asleep. They don’t know why they do this. (They are protected by their friends.) Hero tries to sleep how they usually do when camping outside: Curled into a ball, trying to hide themselves as much as possible. They don’t want to be found by the imagined ones. By the time they wake up, they find themselves sprawled all over the bed/couch/floor. They are very embarrassed by this fact and try to hide it. 

(2)Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc 

Bandages. Bandages everywhere. Sometimes you can find drawings on some of them. They are wrapped tightly but always come loose. They hide new or old wounds. Some will heal, some might take longer to heal. Hero doesn’t really care. They care mostly that their SOUL will never heal. And no amount of bandages will help that. 

(4)Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?

Some vocabulary they still have trouble with. But otherwise they speak however they wish. Their thoughts and their words don’t always line up. Hero and Frisk, as thoughts often battle one another. MERCY and VENGEANCE.

(22)Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?

This is dependent on who the person in question is. Main cast of Undertale? They have difficulty trusting them. It could be an illusion of Charas. Its dependent on their mood, how much they can take before they just break down. They want their family back.

“I hate you.” 

Hero rubs their arm awkwardly, starring into their SOUL. The crack seemed to have widened since their last encounter. Punishment for their folly.

“Not because your a Chara. …You made fun of them and…we fought…But …You’re not…my Chara.” 

They sigh, hating themselves for admitting it. In reality, they were angry for admitting to being wrong. Expy had admitted it themselves: They had done horrible things. Yet they had killed themselves instead of them. At least their LOVE remained unchanged…

Whether or not it justified Hero trying to murder them…That remained to be seen.

death is for the weak // accepting

There are no words. He did not know this person very well … only had he opened up his home and given them some basic care, as was his nature. The times he did see them, swallowing back sadness, he grew colder still. Dust still blowing in the wind of his timeline, his soul trapped among the code.

“I am Hero!” 

They grit their teeth and spat the words out as if they’d been waiting for it. For someone to finally question their ‘status’. 

“I will kill my Chara! I have to! I just wanted to save them! But…but I couldnt…And if I can’t be Frisk then I. Will. Change. I’ll be the Hero that they needed and still need.”

Keno didn’t start using catnip until after the war, and even now she tends to only use it in order to eliminate bad memories and feelings. She has one steady supplier of the stuff since it’s somewhat hard to come by in the underground.
