3 Things I Recommend You Do If You Plan To Move To Morocco 1. Live as close to the ocean as possible. 🌊 If you can live close enough to walk or take a quick drive to the ocean, you will be happy, trust me! I am from the landlocked state of Colorado so I did not initially get the hype of ‘beach life’ or people’s desires to constantly visit the ocean… until I did just that. I am now obsessed with the ocean and I would live near a body of water if I could for the rest of my life. I would recommend living in Casablanca or Tangier because these cities are located near the ocean. 2. Use the French or Arabic you learn to make new friends! 😊 I personally found that I met the coolest people while I was out exploring cities, venturing into random shops, all while fumbling with my language skills. What I realized was it did not always matter how well I spoke French or Arabic. It was the effort I put into the conversations that made people want to talk to me more. Also, showing genuine interest in someone’s craft, hobby, business, and culture will take you a long way in a lot of countries, especially in Morocco. 3. Try every dish that is offered to you at least once. Then learn how to cook your favorite Moroccan food at home. 🍽 Chicken Pastilla and Couscous Tagine are two of my favorite Moroccan dishes. I even learned how to make them at home, which is something I recommend you do if you like cooking. I feel like I should create a full appreciation post all about my favorite Moroccan food.
