She’s often moody but will defend her team to death (hopefully not literally) 

She values every single member of Exoplanet Mission (strengthened by bonding and foundational by nature) and wants to see them flourish on the planet

She finds the Clayton Mission’s purpose disgusting but won’t blame the individuals for their presence

Naima is a terrible liar, but years of pretending to be a man meant she can handle certain professional discretion 

She’s a globetrotter, having travelled and experienced many cultures: Spanish, German, Japanese, Swahili conversationally as well as her southern American dialect and French are on point. 

Grew up between American air force base in the UK and Atlanta, Georgia

American military father eventually became civilian commercial pilot

Her British mother was a nurse who eventually became a physician

Both were very rare at that time, both expected the sciences upon their then son as a point of success

Naima always wanted to travel the world and tried to learn under her father, consistently had curiosity around how flying worked

She really likes running, mostly because she gets to see the world around her and she was always chosen in school for the cross country team

She got into university a year early and studied aerospace engineering

Her professional rise was very swift until her year long break — tw: sexual assault, transphobia — which allowed her to apply to SAND’s volunteers

FREYA WOLFF

Born on November 21, 1987

She started doing Judo and Ju-Jutsu when she was five years old.

Freya’s father wanted to devote his child’s life to the country he loved. That meant Military Academy for Freya while her friends went to normal High Schools.

Served from 2004 to 2008, IRR until 2011

A woman Freya had grown close to while they served together became MIA and she’s done her best to stay away from relationships since then.

Her Mother is a business partner of Henry Clayton and arranged for her daughter to join his Security Team after she’d served her minimum active years.

With her experience, she fit in well among the Security Team, which consisted of many ex-soldiers.

Despite her mother being the initial reason for Freya’s place in the Team, she worked to make it clear that she was more than a good fit for the job.

Parents split in 2013

Freya hasn’t talked to her father since her 26th Birthday.

Henry Clayton approached Freya and asked her to join his SAND-copy Mission.

Freya accepted and joined as one of two Security Officers for Henry’s mission.

 It’s been a little while since I’ve roleplayed so I’m excited to get back into it! I’m Gigi and I’m chillin’ (literally) in Vancouver, BC. Send me some love, I’m always down to brainstorm situations/plots, especially with this uniquely themed rp.  *I will be tagging most of my posts with tw:insect if there’s any photos of bugs/spiders/etc in case anyone is uncomfortable with insects.

Here’s a few notes on my character, if you have any questions feel free to ask! I’ll be setting up more info on his blog along with some headcanons soon:

Faisal was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1980 to his factory worker father and seamstress mother. They lived in a cramped apartment near the edge of the city.

Parents were hopeful that Fais could focus on his schooling and hopefully become successful as a doctor, like his uncle had, but they learned quickly of their son’s aversion for blood.  

Literally faints at the sight of it. 

Earned his degree in Entomology at the university of Cario.

Immediately began to travel around the world doing field studies with rare and new species of insects, centring in around South Africa.

Got his picture taken and put into a few insect magazines and studies, even was present when a new species of arthropod was discovered. 

Fais heard about SAND through his uncle, and began to write in letters and applications. There was no way he wasn’t going to be the first person to discover space bugs and record all of the daunting and dry information in extreme detail.

piano, cello, and fencing lessons from a young age

strong aptitude for academics, exceptional memory, excelled in school and attended Columbia early 

got guilted into joining his friend’s shitty band in university; quit when admitted to medical school, and realized he missed it

recruited by SAND shortly after completing his general surgery residency 

accustomed to being the smartest person in the room; struggles with the impossible standards he sets for himself

has always kept few close friends, often preoccupied

sketches in the margins of his paperwork while thinking 

reads anything he can get his hands on 

restless and irritable when unengaged 

workaholic, frequently forgets to look after himself
