Studying for physics
Trying to prep for your physics exam and feeling utterly terrified or helpless? Iβm sorry youβre having such a hard time, let me give you some tips from your friendly neighbourhood grad student.Β
1. Get out your formula sheet. (If you donβt have one then step 0 is make a formula sheet containing all the stupid stuff you wish you didnβt have to memorize.) Make sure you know what every formula on there means. What are all the variables? When can you use it? Can you draw a picture of it? Is theΒ βaβ in this formula the same as theΒ βaβ in that formula?
2. Pick the scariest formula and do problems that use it. Practise until itβs no longer scary.
3. Repeat 2 until your overall terror has lessened to a dull nervousness.
Youβre probably ready now, but if youβve got extra time:
4. Ask a friend what they think the hardest thing is and try to teach them, or figure it out together.
A final note: I promise your prof/teacher is not trying to fail you. Actually nothing makes a marker happier than giving a perfect. This stuff is HARD but not impossible. Good luck :)
