The pain has just been getting worse and worse since he layed down. It’s no surprise to him that someone can hear him moaning and crying, shaking on his bed. He’s clamped his teeth down on the edge of the pillow several times, and even though he knows he should be calling for help his brain won’t process it. This can’t be normal, can’t be right.

He hears the door open but he’s too busy biting down on the pillow again, arms wrapped around it and wrapped around his waist, to look up until the feeling has passed. Eyes red-rimmed and glossy, he finally spots Kdin. His voice is weak when he speaks, absolutely exhausted and in pain.

In the few months that he'd joined Achievement Hunter, Jeremy had found that he liked spending time with the editor team. Sure, Matt is his best friend, but for something a bit different, he'd go and bother the guys in the AH alcove. And it never ceased to be funny to him.

Lindsay was a ball. She was energetic and quick witted, plus knew how to take a joke and make it 15 tomes better. Michael was a lucky man, that's for sure.

Caleb was a bit of an oddball. Nice guy, lost track of his own thoughts sometimes, but really helpful, and good to talk sports stuff to (hey, he was still a gymnast at heart).

And then there was Kdin. Jeremy was always torn between wanting to annoy him and placate him. His reactions were always so much fun, and Jeremy was always trying to coax them out.

Ray doesn't usually have to be discreet- but usually he doesn't keep friends who aren't in his crew. He's also a forgetful son of a bitch, and lazy to boot- so this was bound to happen sometime, wasn't it?

Muttering in the bathroom about how stupid facepaint is (and how much more stupid bloodstains are), Ray can't hear the unlocked door to his apartment open. He can't hear shoes on the carpet that pass by the coffee table where the bright pink sniper rifle is still sitting in it's open case, or the trailing feet alongside the blood droplets on the floor that came down from the graze on his arm. 

He can't hear Kdin at all, honestly, until it's too late.

Ray lifts his head from the sink, finally clean of facepaint (god dammit Ryan), and intends to start washing the wound on his arm but instead freezes, staring at his friend in his bathroom doorway. He stays silent for a moment while his brain connects to his mouth, and then it's fairly obvious how to respond to the situation.
