Rosalie speaks many languages, and though the Slavic she hears isn’t one of them, the charm on her necklace translates it into English for her. One the words hit her ears, her mouth stretches into a malicious grin, her eyes twinkling with mischief for a moment. She’s not one for eating people, no matter how many times Spectre’s told her it’s good, but she understands the sentiment. She turns back to Lilith, the grin still on her face. “I bet,” she answers, her head slightly tilting as she eyes the other. “You’d get along with my friend Spectre. We still don’t know WHAT he is, but he certainly shares your HUNGER for human flesh.” Though the hunger doesn’t exist in Rosalie, she can’t deny there’s certainly a JOY in killing those lowly animals.

One of the essentials of being deserted, left to survive by any means necessary, was the art of protecting your belongings and the place you considered shelter. Home was such a very loose word, as the young scavenger still whole heartedly believed that some day... her family would come back for her. That they’d whisk her away back to the place she’d once called home... sanctuary...
Such flights of fancy.
It isn’t often a stranger made their way out to her neck of Jakku, only a few mere clicks from Kelvin Ridge. It was usually quiet, off the beaten path enough that no one bothered her. It seemed that this day was an exception.
“What are you doing here?” Rey bit out, holding her staff up, pointed at the blonde stranger. Body was tense, ready to drop into a fight if need be.
ADRENALINE was still ringing through each cell in both mad panic and sheer anger. surely what she had seen at the airport was an illusion. a test from the svr to see if she was truly over the “death” of her parents. but the woman she saw across the terminal, THAT WAS HER MOTHER. the mother that had tucked her into bed, taught her how to get a the center of the target each time she fired a gold-tipped arrow. some would have expected that the sway of the woman’s freshly cut hair with new blonde highlights could have thrown anyone off. but a daughter would know a mother anywhere. as for her father, well, her heart fractured when she frantic gaze met his of shock. the man who read her, her favourite bedtime story for as long as she could, until of course, she “grew out of it”. this had to be some kind of cruel joke. she knew who she worked for, and what lengths they would go to. but to have her parents simply go along with it. she had stayed in service for the purpose to honour them. and now that all seemed to have been without reason. so just like what her parents had taught her best, alistra disappeared.
it wasn’t too difficult since the airport had been so crowded. they’re convenient in her line of work, and so she hopped into the first cab she saw and yelled directions at middle-aged man behind the steering wheel. everything was screwed. her parents could call head agents and capture alistra’s assignment before she would have the chance. she damned herself and reflected whilst staring out of the window. new york. such a fascinating place. she would have loved to come there under any other circumstances, but alas, that is not her life. but in new york, GOD, NEW YORK. anyone can come one person, and be another in a matter of hours. questions of how she had come this far danced across the girls mind. but she knew all the answers. she had trained for this since she had been a little girl. so desperate to be like her mama and papa.
she clasped her hands and rested her forehead against them, an ironic pose. was she going to pray to god that she’d get their first? what would she even do if she got there first? and as if a sign from the almighty, the cab rolled past a sign that read “LIFE IS NOT A CONTINUUM OF PLEASANT CHOICES, BUT INEVITABLE PROBLEMS THAT CALL FOR STRENGTH, DETERMINATION, AND HARD WORK.” that’s what she would do. she would be strong because although she had spent the past three years, four months, and fourteen days - believing her parents to be dead - if it was one thing she learned, it was to be strong. life not easy, especially not when you work as a spy. when she finally arrived at the location she paid the driver and surveyed the streets to make sure nothing had been compromised. yes, she’s made it there first. a door opened and alistra’s neck craned to see it’s source. and there was her assignment. B-2614 - otherwise known as karla lancaster. the spy’s eyes followed the girl as she walked down the street. after being sure that no one from the agency was around, alistra went to follow up to karla. each step filled with a mutation between anger, determination, and utter confusion. ❝ — HEY YOU ! ❞ she yelled in a perfect american accent while managing to hook an arm, rather forcefully with karla’s. it wasn’t the kind of yell you hear when someone is chasing you because you’ve just upset them, but the sound of a warm call of friend who’s spotted another. her smile conveyed a girl who was friendly and all too perky. a facade to fool the passing by strangers. alistra turned to karla quickly before the situation got out of hand. ❝ — i know you have absolutely no reason to believe, but i was sent here to kill you. now, i’m NOT - emphasis on the not part, but we need to get as far away from here as possible. NOW. ❞ the american accent still concealed alistra’s native russian one for the sake of time. they didn’t have that luxury at the moment. alistra looked out of the furthest corners of her eyes to check their surroundings once again, they still seemed to be in the clear, but she wasn’t about to take that for granted. ❝ — is there anywhere you know that you could go, and would be one-hundred percent safe ? ❞
