I took a trip to Cartanica this evening.  The Niffs may be technologically advanced with their Magitek engines and MT’s but in Cartanica it appears they import all their cars from Lucis.  Almost every vehicle in the near deserted town has a Duscae or Leide license plate. Many things look familiar, the building straight out of Lestallum, the colourful shipping containers, the rusty billboards and tarpaulin covered market stalls.  There’s even a rusty Exineris sign! There’s also a weird glitch.  If you use the God Mode mod to explore the land below the train station the two shop keepers from the station appear at the bottoms of the lift shaft. They are half buried in the ground but you can buy your weapons and curatives from their fully functioning shops. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

Maybe it became the city’s slogan instead.

Exineris Power Plant

I’m still deep down the modding rabbit hole but I came across something I wanted to share.  Searching through the game files I found this little critter.  I initially thought it was an angry orange but a friend told me it’s a tomato.  Then the penny dropped.  I think this is the killer tomato!!! It looks menacing but kinda cute in its own way.  I don’t believe it was ever used in the game but if you ever do find it, please let me know. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

The Exineris power plant, Lestallum.  You don’t get a very good look at this power plant in the game but it’s a pretty amazing building.  It’s no wonder Lestallum is hot, there are burning meteor shards all around the power plant, and you can almost feel the intense heat from orange glow inside. On the top of the plant there are two towers that look very much like apartment buildings.  There are windows and balconies but surely no-one would want to live there?  Just another quirk in this wonderful game.
