Element’s Yujin releases CF series for Binggrae Banana Flavored Milk

Binggrae has released a new series of commercials today starring Element’s Yujin. The CF series advertises their popular banana-flavored milk. Donned in the signature yellow associated with the drink, Yujin charmingly shows off the milk. The short clips are a part of Binggrae Banana Flavored Milk’s Save The Earth Banana campaign.

Yujin has been hard at work this year as a CF model, actress, and music artist. Most recently, she met fans through promotions for her solo comeback with her first mini-album ICON and during promotions for COLLA3ORATE’s “Oh My Mistake”.

[NEWS] Element's Yujin cast in upcoming tvN drama "Reply 1997"

Following her acting debut earlier in the year with School 2017, Gold Star Entertainment has confirmed that Element’s Yujin will be starring as the lead female in tvN’s upcoming drama Reply 1997. Reply 1997 is the continuation of tvN’s Reply Series and will follow the story of six friends in Busan as the timeline moves back and forth between their past as 18 year-old high schoolers in 1997, and their present lives as older adults.

The role that Yujin will be playing is a high school student Sung Shiwon who is an avid fan of the boy group H.O.T. but places last place in her class. However, she’s also described as being forthright and sassy. The Element member is also from Busan and thus fans have expressed their excitement over getting to see the female act in her natural dialect.

Reply 1997 is set to first air on November 3rd.

Yujin releases first solo mini-abum “ICON”

Gold Star Media group Element has been noted for pushing the boundaries of modern idol groups with their co-ed configuration, but since their first pre-release single in 2016 and their official debut in 2017, the members have gradually begun to make their name as more than their group make-up. Yujin is one member who’s branched out into solo activities of her own, namely gigs on variety shows such as Michuri and Prison Life of Fools, an acting debut in last year’s School 2017, modeling as the face of Lancôme, and a solo debut last fall with the single “Twenty-Five”. The main vocal has now tackled the challenge of releasing her first mini-album on her own.

ICON, Yujin’s first solo mini-album, follows down the path she set herself on with “Twenty-Five” with its bright and confident poppy sound. “Without You”, partially composed and produced by Yujin’s groupmate Sun, and “What I Want To Do If I Have A Lover”, featuring Origin’s Dawon, are the less upbeat songs of the album, splitting up the pop party of “Top Girl”, “Hate You”, and ‘Icon”.

“Top Girl”, which serves as the mini-album’s promotional single, is a bombastic dance-pop track that eschews the understated confidence on Yujin’s solo debut for a more loud declaration. "Top Girl” will be promoted for two weeks weeks on music shows and b-side "Without You” will also be staged for the first week of music show promotions.

Element's Yujin covers Elle Korea's August issue

Element’s Yujin took on her first solo magazine cover with the August issue of Elle Korea. In the cover and following photo spread, Yujin is pictured wearing an outfit that perfectly accentuates the transition from summer to fall.

Yujin debuted back in 2017 in the unique co-ed group Element and was quick to capture the hearts of fans both in Korea and internationally with the group embarking on worldwide tours quickly after their official debut. She’s also been widely active on her own through commercials, variety shows, dramas as well as in music, having made her solo debut last year with the portal release “Twenty-Five” followed by her mini album ICON released back in June.

In the accompanying interview, Yujin was asked about her thoughts on being active both as a soloist and with her group in which she answered, “It’s both an honor and a burden. I feel grateful whenever I get to do all these amazing activities, but I always make sure to remind myself that I’m representing Element.” She goes on to also answer questions about transitioning into an idol actress as well as what people can look forward to from her in the future.

[NEWS] Element's Yujin cast in upcoming KBS2 drama "School 2017"

Element’s Yujin has been confirmed to join the young cast of KBS2’s upcoming drama School 2017. School 2017 is the latest installation of the school series that began back in 1999. It follows the story of today’s youth, specifically high school students, and works to depict the realistic struggles they go through.

The role Yujin will be playing is that of Hong Namjoo, a pretty girl who knows that she ranks in the top 1% of the country when it comes to her looks and uses that fact to navigate through the harsh world.

This will be Yujin’s first acting role since debut. The drama is said to start airing in February of 2020.
