San releases second solo album āA Song Too Lateā³
Alienās San has dropped his second full-length solo album! The lead vocal and rapper made his solo debut exactly a year ago with the release of his first solo album Is This Love?. Since then, the idol has released two Portal singles to round out his total appearances on the project to four and held his first solo concert. Now, San leaves behind the questioning romance of Is This Love? for the more regretful A Song Too Late.
Twelve tracks make up A Song Too Lateās runtime, the same number as San delivered for his first album. This Time, San enters the album on the receiving end of an unrequited love withĀ āExcusesā and as the album progresses, emotions of heartbreak, sorrow, anger, and obsession are explored. A number of features appear on the album: Knightās Duri providing vocals forĀ āBaby Good Nightā, Dimensions Entertainment soloist Alex appearing onĀ āSnow, Fuseās Minjung onĀ āMissing Youā, and Silhouetteās Youngjoo onĀ āWhyā. All four features appear in the albums credits as well, with Knightās Duri providingĀ āComing Homeāās lyrics, Fuseās Minjung helping to craft āBaby Good Nightā,Ā āMissing Youā, andĀ āThat XXā, Alex contributing to the lyrics and producing the song he appears on, and Silhouetteās Youngjoo also helping to write the lyrics of the song sheās featured on. San himself was involved in the creative credits of the album in the areas of lyrics and production on several of the albumās songs.
"That XXā is a guitar ballad from the perspective of a man heartbroken because the object of his affection remains with a man unworthy of her. āThat XXā will be promoted for three weeks on music shows and b-side track āNo Shadowā will be performed solo as an auxiliary stage for the first week of promotions.

San releases Dimensions Portal song āNo Make Upā
Alienās San has released a new digital single through Dimensions Entertainmentās wing of the Portal digital music project. "No Make Upā is an R&B-jazz track where San reassures a lover that he finds her beautiful without any make up on. The music video is simple but appropriate, starring San singing with a band backing him up in a warehouse in black and white. San is credited for writing the lyrics for the song, as well as producing it.
base has announced the next television show that will be airing during theirĀ base TV television block! The company has already announced the idol songwriter competition show Our Songs, which will begin airing on September 4, and a new show called Secret Sibling has now been added to the line-up.Ā The press release states that the purpose of the show is to pair idols up with their own āsecret siblingā, who they will get to know over the course of the show by sharing their everyday lives and worries with each other.
The press release also confirmed the cast of the show, featuring several big names: Decipherās Taejin, Ariaās Jynx, Alienās San, Knightās Duri, Woo, Heesung, and Hyuk, Lipstickās Ruby, Artemisia, and Minnie, Fuseās Miyeon, Minjung, and Sooah, WISHās Rina and Sophie, Unityās Jaeyeol and Ting, and Lucidās Hyoyeon, Alice, and Wei.
Secret SiblingĀ will air every other Friday at 11PM beginning September 11.

[NEWS] Alienās San confirmed to hold first solo concert
Dimensions Entertainment has just confirmed that Alienās San will be holding his first solo concert. In the announcement, the company stated that San will take on the challenge of his first solo concert. It was stated that San is currently working hard to put on stages that both fans and the public will enjoy. This will also mark San as the first member of Alien to hold a solo concert.Ā
Earlier this year San released his first full length album titled, Is This Love? with the title track āUN Villageā, along with recently releasing the portal single āPlease Donātā. The concert titled ROMANCE DAWN will be held on August 15 and 16 at Songang University Mary Hall. Tickets for ROMANCE DAWN will go on sale later this week.Ā

San releases Dimensions Portal song āPlease Donāt...ā
After making his solo debut in February, Alienās San has returned with another solo song through Dimensions Portal.Ā āPlease Donāt...ā is a pop-tinged ballad where San pleads for his lover not to leave him because he canāt bear it. The music video puts a more in-depth story line to the lyrics involving a man dealing with seeing the person he loves marry someone else. Fuseās Minjung is credited as the lyricist for the song.
[INTERVIEW] Alienās San talks debut solo album, Is This Love?
Though their path in the years following their debut was rocky, boy group Alien has seen themselves build a new type of success over the past few years as they continue to forge new paths for themselves. The groupās lead vocal and rapper, San, has recently begun to branch out into solo music with the release of Portal singles, but it wasnāt until this month, as an eight year industry veteran, that he made his solo debut with the release of Is This Love?. Exclusive got to have the first interview with San about the release of his first solo album. Read what he had to say below!
How would you describe the concept and sound of Is This Love?
āAside from two or so tracks on the album, Iād say the sound of it is more relaxed. Certain tracks are more subtle and subdued. It carries a lot of R&B influences. That part of the sound is very obvious and it the backbone of most of the tracks. Even the ones that might be a little more forward in sound. For the concept, I wanted to ask a question with the title. After listening to the album in full, track by track, would you consider this long? I wanted to capture the start and the bitter end of a relationship and I want to know is this love or does the listener have a different experience?ā
How does Is This Love? embody you uniquely as a soloist in comparison to Alienās music?
āI think it showās very different style, itās my color. Alienās sound is very in your face. It sort of demands your attention. Overall, alien as a group demands that. Iād say when it comes to me, itās very different. It feels like itās really me, itās a little more emotional. Itās not a side of me Iāve shown until this point. Right now as a soloist, I think my sound is the more personal side of me. Itās a little more romantic, sensual and overall softer compared to the music I make with Alien.ā
Youāre credited as a lyricist and producer on several of the albumās songs. What was your creative process like for the creation of the album?
āI sort of had everything together but not at the same time? If you know what I mean? I had a bunch of ideas and then suddenly I had the freedom to just create and then I had no idea about what I wanted to do. Once I got past that, I focused on what I wanted it to sound like, what story did I want to tell and who could help me create that story. Once I had the story, it was a little easier to tie everything together. When I asked myself, what is love? I started to answer the question through the songs. And to answer that, I looked back on my experiences and the experiences of people around me. I like working with people so I looked around for other producers and artist that had a similar sound. I had a question I wanted to answer in and the process of that I was able to complete my album.ā
You worked with other popular idols such as Lipstickās Sowon, Silhouetteās Youngjoo, and Knightās Taeyong on this album. What was that like?
āIt was a lot of fun! Iām also thankful that they even agreed to work with me. iIasked my manager to contact BC to work with Sowon, i thought her voice would fit well but we donāt have a close relationship, so I was pretty shocked when she agreed. Working with Youngjoo went really smoothly but weāre friendly with each other. Youngjoo really made the process easy. I think I was most by how well I worked with Taeyong though. Itās a pleasant shock but seeing as we only knew each other in passing, we didnāt have much of a relationship. But once we started to work together and everything clicked. another with the other songs he solely worked on, he helped bring the first half of my album to life so I owe him a lot.ā
Other than āUN Villageā, what is your favorite song on the album?
āThis is a hard choice but Iāve narrowed it down to two, Think About You and Who, You? Between these two, itās really hard to pick one but I think Iāve made a choice. Who, You? is a perfect close to the album but I think Think About You is my favorite. and not just because I worked on it. I think in my entire album, itās the closet Iāll get to keeping both Alien but my own solo identity. It carefully plays the line, relaxed and laid back in some parts but in your face in others. Itās a little dramatic but I like it it.ā
Did you have any major inspirations for this album?
āWhen it comes to figures, there isnāt one main artist. I really focused on listening to songs that had the music I liked, the sounds and how it came together. And then listening to lyrics, despite the tone of the song. Then like I said before, the things that have happened to me. Things that Iāve seen happen to other people, I thought about I could turn that into the song. The main thing I think was the thought of what I would sound like, what what would my story sound like. I think that drove me the most.ā
What do you hope people take away from listening to this album?
āI really just want people to enjoy it. It would be nice if someone connected with any song of the album. If it touched them in someway or comforted them. If they had feelings that they couldnāt put into words, maybe my song could be what they wanted to say, they just didnāt know how. I wonder if theyād be able to answer the question the album posed. Is this love? Or was theirs different? In the end though, Iād just like for the album to be liked and enjoyed.ā
Do you have any other comments youād like to make to your fans?
āI just want to say thank you for supporting me. Because the response was good from fans with my previous releases, I felt confident to step and show another side of myself. because of the support of my fans and the staff and everyone around me who helped, I was able to take this chance, thank you again and I hope I can show other sides of myself in the future.ā

Is This Love? is a twelve track album. Most of the album takes on an exploration of various R&B styles, from more traditional takes to more modern interpretations of the genre, and makes use of both Sanās vocal prowess and his rapping ability. The track list features collaborations with several other idols: CHARMās Sirius on āStay Upā, Lipstickās Sowon on āR.O.Dā, and Silhouetteās Youngjoo on āWithout Youā. San has lyric and production credits on seven of the albumās twelve tracks. Silhouetteās Youngjoo is listed as one of the composers for āWho, You?ā, while Knightās Taeyong has lyrics, music, and production credits onĀ āBetchaā and āIce Queenā, as well a working with San on the lyrics and production of "UN Villageā and āStay Upā.
The albumās promoted single will be āUN Villageā, a slick and sophisticated alt-R&B track. The song will be promoted for two weeks on music shows, and b-side track āThink About Youā will be staged solo for the first week of his music show promotions.
