or, well, Im once again doing some thinky thonking. its been a bit. Renn went home (and I miss her. quite a bit actually.) weve been beta-reading a friends pokemon fanfiction for fir, and uh.

well.

not gonna lie, pokemon was our first fandom and is still a bit of a hyperfixation (particularly for one very specific side game. lookin at you, explorers) for us. that aside.

weve come to the conclusion that:

A) Cynthia (as in the champion from Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, the lady with the Garchomp that many players still fear to this day) hits a whole lot of our door codes. and

B) the only door code she doesnt hit is the being dead thing. but

C) theres the whole team rainbow rocket thing from USUM (we never got those games, mainly due to R looking at Lusamine being less shitty and going hm! no <3 which is super valid of her) but as best as we can tell, there are somewhat canonical bad end timelines, one of which where Cyrus (the leader of the obligatory evil team from DPPt) won, and presumably the entire fucking world was destroyed and nearly everyone died with it.

so uh.

our options here are

A) keep trying to repress any potential Cynthia headmates from forming, because dear gods that Cynthia is going to be super traumatized and our pokemon-loving friend is a Cyrus kinnie so... yeahhhh,

B) actively seek out a Cynthia from a different, less shitty timeline, downside is that it may not actually stop the Cynthia from scenario A from forming and. yeah.

aaa. much to think about. were also dealing with getting ready for college so yknow, weve got THAT going on too... so we could actually use some serious competence in here (not to say that everyone else isnt competent, but the more competence the better and while five people does seem to be our head's limit, we clearly can stay at that limit for a while without anyone new forming, so...)

also. on the one hand, I feel kindaaa bad for not wanting to deal with a super traumatized version of Cynthia if we dont have to? because I dont but also that theoretical version of her would need us a lot more than, say, a different theoretical version of her where we were just like hey, you want a vacation for a while? you want to see how fucking terrified the internet in this world is of you?

(I feel like she would enjoy that. I know I would >:3)

anyway tl;dr I dunno. about a lot of things actually. does this count as a vent? it might count as a vent.
