The nastiness is very prominent on twitter. I don't know what happened but suddenly everyone thinks is edgy to hate Olicity without any reason. This is why I hate poll season. It brings out the worst people.
Twitter is always a cesspool of shitty people, so I’m totally not surprised that happened. I stayed away from Twitter precisely for that reason. BUT it turns out we have a second shot at winning, because EW opened the poll again!

I'm in the stydia and olicity fandoms (voted olicity though) and I just haven't seen any nastiness at all so I'm just wondering if you have examples
If you’re looking for receipts I don’t have any. I just saw some Olicity folks mentioning what the other fandom was doing. I didn’t participate as much this year, and stayed away from Twitter and Tumblr. Again, as I said in my last reply, not everyone is like that. But I’ve just noticed over the years when it comes to Olicity other ships go ham for no reason other than it being Olicity. I guess that’s the nature of online polls.

I never said it was just that ship. Every year any fandom we’ve come across with during this poll (maybe not CS but there were still bad apples there too) can be downright ugly to the Olicity fandom. Obviously not everyone’s like that but it’s just the nature of polls like this.
