horror themed asks
gonna answer these for Evya from the science-fantasy-portal-cosmic-horror story again because she's bouncing around in my brain like a screensaver
🧭 - what would your character do if they got lost in another dimension/world/universe/timeline? do they try to go home? do they even want to?
omg this is literally the premise of the entire story. like, in the actual story she goes through a portal and ends up in an exact copy of earth as it was 3,000 years ago, that's completely empty with no people in it. I won't go into a huge amount of story details here, but she very much does try to get back for a while, because she's scared and alone and also an extrovert, but in the end, being the scientist nerd she is, she ends up wanting to stay there and study the other world. (spoiler alert, she ends up becoming the "guardian" of the portal so she can go back and forth whenever it opens.)
🌃 - what would your character do if they were trapped in a labyrinthine city that's alive?
genuinely I think she would try to befriend it. there would be the initial "why does it seem like the city's actively hostile to me" then "wait if it's actively hostile that means it has a consciousness" then "if it has a consciousness that means I can communicate with it" and then that would be her mission for the rest of the story! befriend the living city!
🪚 - what would happen if you put two of your characters in a saw trap maze together?
Evya: well if I had to die at least this is an interesting way to die
Caitrin: shut up and work with me to get out of here
but seriously, with those two, Caitrin's "survival smart" because she's been living on a farm on her own for pretty much all her adult life, and Evya has some survival smarts too because she's an Antarctic geologic researcher, so I think they'd be the team that actually made it out.
