When the daydreaming doesn't work anymore for one or two hours and it starts to feel bad.

Loving like a dog but in the way that a feral dog loves a human. You can give it food and all the love and patience you can give, it might start to love you, or it won't. This human has not hurt me yet, but they still have the capacity to and will continue to be able to hurt you. Maybe the person tries to pet it one day, and the dog snarls or even snapps at them, it's a reflex to try and stay safe, away from those hands that slap and grab and hurt. Maybe it scares the person away, and maybe the dog will never change, no matter how much it tries to love the person who feeds it kibble and soft words, it will always flinch when someone walks by, or tuck it's tail when it's being watched.
