RWBY Theory: Destined to Fail
I've always had the wild theory that the story of RWBY will end with Salem winning.
While I still ride-and-die with my theory of reversing time to right their wrongs, I also feel like RWBY is going to be a tale of death. With how hopeless and bleak things had become, and how the teams are dwindling into shells of their former selves, I begun to theorize that their all going to fail.
But this isn't out of malice. When I think on it, it reminds me about Heartless (book by Marissa Meyer.)
A story about the origins of the Red Queen of Hearts. The entire plot was bound by destiny, and putting Catherine down a path of becoming the wretched Queen we currently know from Alice in Wonderland. She was a good person at first, doing what she could to live peacefully and happily as a baker with her best friend. But destiny bounded her to fail in every single way, no matter how much she tried to go against it. No matter how much she tried to be one step ahead, the final result would unfortunately be her demise of a broken heart. She became the ruthless Red Queen.
I bring up "destiny" since it's a word that rings in my mind every time I think of Pyrrha, how she believed in fate. She tried changing the course, but she still died.
I theorize that RWBY will be the end of them. How much they try to go through doors and choose the right path, ultimately all choices are futile, because destiny is calling them closer to their own demise.
Salem is already closer to her goal.
RWBY+ destroyed two cities.
Headmasters are dropping dead.
The Maidens are hopeless tools to work against time.
Their spirits are vapid, their plans are not working, unless it means they have to spill innocent blood to keep progressing.
Everyone's lives are in the hands of incompetent 'heroes.'
Theory? Everyone will not live. Salem will win. Destiny has already written their story.
