In honor of World Alzheimer’s day, I’m sharing these memories of my family: My Grandpa who passed away when I was young but I remember driving around his retirement community in a golf cart doing bits. A pic of my parents enjoying a walk in the park in our town just a few months ago. And a pickup football game with close family friends that has been a thanksgiving tradition for many many years. I share these memories with you to raise awareness about the fact that #Every3Seconds, someone in the world develops dementia and that is not okay. She believed in me and my passion for skating when I endured constant ridicule from my peers. And she taught me to treat others with respect and kindness even when you don’t agree with them.
