The android duly allowed the little slug alien to approach. It did not want to deal with her excessive emoting, so it just initiated a random human subroutine to do the work for it
Suddenly, the stony-faced man had bright eyes. “Happy day, huh?” he said, almost like he was a . . . schoolteacher talking to a child. (Suitable enough). Accepting the kiss on the cheek with a friendly smile, he took the tank with the Japanese fish (a koi?) in it, and allowed the other to stick the needle in his arm.
“Well, thank you so much! I have no place to put this fish since I don’t have a permanent dwelling, so will have to either give it back to you or kill it. The discarded hypodermic needle appears to have been previously used to inject methadone by a human who has HIV.”
It was all said with an upbeat, kindly tone, even as he shoved the fish tank back into the little girl’s arms. Once allowing for enough time to no longer have to be holding the tank, his face fell back to blankness and it walked away, liquid silver schlorping the hypodermic needle into its body for later disposal.
Lumi: "Hey. HeyheyheyHEY!!!! You wanna go on a space adventure with me!? I promise it'll be super cool! Also also, there will be fish. Lots of fish!!!"
