A Visit for the Chancellor
Mae smiled slightly as she gestured out one of the windows before using her mechanical arm to tap lightly on the blueprint in her hand. âWhy, I could show you what Iâm working on per order of the princess. Itâs in my workshop, though, so youâd have to accompany me there.â â ever-starcatcher ---------- âHer Order doesnât overrun my Order...â he started to say before it became clear that he was starting to sound rather silly and pompous. He let the sentence hang unfinished as his eyes watched the movement of the mechanical arm. Very quickly he darted a glance at one of his own hands. Powerful metal replacing one of his soft, meaty limbs would be lovely, wouldnât it... âI guess I would have to, would I?â He said in a calm tone. âIt is after all my duty and surely the Princess must be interested in something of value. Lead the way, if you please.â Thankfully, today was one of those days where any sort of steps leading to his evil schemes were carefully locked away and Chancellor Cole could just leave his office without so much as a thought, he added with a smile. Having a scheme that took decades to complete did have some perks.
