What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
Wonder what the time is as I don't have a clock and my phone is over the other side of the room. If Ethan is awake and the cat jumps on me its usually time to get up. If its only one of those things its okay to go back to sleep.
What’s your passion in life, that thing that really makes you look forward to tomorrow?
At the moment, my little boy keeps me going. He's so funny and clever, he's pretty much my glue. He's starting to string words together so he can ask for things, teaching him to say please and thank you without prompting him is a whole other challenge.
Top 3 favorite books?
Honestly? I've never really thought about it much, I've read books but nothing recently other than Berry's stuff so here are the ones I that mean the most to me.
Christina Rosetti - I don't remember which book but it was the one I did when I attempted my A Levels, they were so beautiful I wish I knew where the book was now.
Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding - I remember reading this when I was too young to watch the film on holiday before I had my nose broken by my brother with a golf club. I pretty much read the whole thing in two days, it's so much better than the film.
Atonement by Ian McEwan - I need to find this book again and watch the film. I got this book when I was with someone who meant a lot to me at the time, it was coming to the end of a relationship. We had just seen the film in the cinema and I had to read it because I knew the book would only be better.
Most of my books are still at my Mum or brother's house from before I moved up to the North East, I'm probably forgetting some greats like Terry Pratchett, Roald Dahl and Charlaine Harris but these are the books that always come to mind when people ask me.
If you had to choose a spirit animal, which one would it be and why?
A cat. They are affectionate when they want to be, empathetic to hurt and pain and not to mention they sleep all day. I think most accept you can't force a cat to do something they don't want to do, I'm a cat.
What do you like most about yourself?
I've not given up, not yet anyway. Things have been really hard the last few years. Mentally taxing and physically exhausting but I've not given up and thrown it all away, I've wiped my face taken a deep breath and stuck to it.
The last gift you got?
Um, trying to rack my brains. The last gift I got that I didn't by myself with gift money was my Ukulele which I got from my Mother and Father-in-Law for Christmas. I don't get to play it much as Ethan wants to play it whilst I'm trying to practice so I have to wait 'til he goes out or he's fast asleep and play with the doors closed.
A song that really moves you?
Secretly by Skunk Anasie - To me its a song about being the third wheel and feeling unwanted when you really want to be the one who's loved even though the other person is selfish and blind. Keeping all of this to yourself and wondering why you're doing it.
I love you. Do you?
Generally no, not at the moment. Someone said you can only see your flaws, your good traits are on your back that's why you can't see them. I struggle with this whole concept right now, hopefully I'll get back to feeling like that person I used to be.
But I do love Stella! She's a wonderful person, sweet and kind which is why I couldn't ignore this any longer.
Are you looking forward to the Sims 4?
Yes I am, I'm sure I'll end up with a copy at some point but I'm keen to see what the released product looks like. The game is what you make of it, hopefully the developers will cater for the creative minds who currently enjoy making and sharing their content with us.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Most days I can barely see to the end of the week, if I look at the wider picture then I'm not really sure. I don't know if I want to have another one, not because I don't love children. My god, I love Ethan with all my heart (I didn't think I could love someone so unconditionally even though I struggle to understand why he loves me), I'm just not sure if I could handle having another child in my current state with my CFS plan just beginning.
I would have liked to move to a bigger house perhaps, but I like where we live now. I miss my family but I manage with out them, as I know work is a lot harder to find back in East Anglia. I'd like to be back at work, doesn't have to be the same employer but I don't like not being at work. Adult conversation that doesn't evolve around Thomas and Friends or my medical progress is always welcomed.
Do you believe in true love?
Over the last few years (like 10 years I guess) my perception of love has changed and been challenged, I'd met a few guys online and jumped right in, met people through work and got over involved. I've dated guys my own age and considerably older, moved across countries and been wined and dined.
I think "True" love is what you find when you don't expect it, when you're ready to give up and you're down and out like I was. It's always there when you're sick and tired and don't understand why they love you, they just do. They accept you for who you are even when you don't even know who you are any more. It's not giving up when others would, its crying because you know you can be without them when you make a mistake or say something rash. Not needing to keep the truth or even having to lie because it would only damage or cause pain.
I think I've waffled on enough on this one, you get the picture.
