hello! here's the first song i'd like to share. it's a song that is very special to me. i believe i first heard it when i was doing archival work at my university's queer archives. i don't know how to describe that first listen. it was the year i came out to all my uni people as a trans woman, although i had identified as non-binary already. it was also the year i'd split up with my then partner. and also the first year of my grad education. a lot of transitions were happening in my life, and this song gave me a sense of hope, or as you might say in urdu, hausla. it gave me the hausla to begin tending to emotions i'd buried for very long. and now, as i try to find a sense of trans kinship after returning to my hometown, it continues to give me hausla. it reminds that everything is always changing and in motion. a moment may feel incredibly painful, but it is only a moment, and it will soon pass.
