I was inspired by this Hazbin Hotel theory/headcanon post by @h0r53f7y to write this post about a theory/headcanon about if Lucifer was the one who gave birth to Charlie and how Lilith would react to that.
I'm sure that when Lucifer and Lilith knew that Charlie was on the way, Lily was just as nervous as Luci. While Luci was being a bundle of nerves desperately hoping that the baby would take after Lilith as much as possible (given how Heaven traumatized him, thus making him believe that nothing good came from him), but Lilith didn't mind whether the baby would take after either her or him or both parents. He worries that he'll turn out to be a bad dad, and the fact that he's pregnant takes those worries to a whole new level. Lilith does try to reassure him, but like with much of his other instances of anxiety, self-doubt, and depression, it can only do so much. However, despite his insecurities and nerves, he's still happy and excited about fatherhood. Like LuLu, Lilith is very protective and doting. Lilith gently laying her head on Lucifer's stomach was a regular occurence. In fact, he couldn't help but feel happy when Lilith felt Charlie's heartbeat for the first time. Both Lilith and Lucifer talked and sang while Charlie was developing in Lucifer's belly, along with cautious rubs, hugs, and kisses. They promise to never let any harm come to Charlie and to never know any hurt they went through, regardless of how the child will turn out. When Lilith felt Charlie kick in Lucifer's tummy for the first time, Luci apologized, think he did something wrong, but it took a while for Lilith to explain and reassure Luci that this is just Charlie's way of reacting to/interacting with the outside world rather than her lashing out at him. Since then, every movement was a welcome surprise.
I imagine if Lucifer was pregnant with Charlie and he (if not he and Lilith) were to encounter Eve, I guess Eve would've been pregnant with Abel around the same time Lucifer was pregnant with Charlie. (bc f yeah Charlie and Abel being born at least on the same day as each other! i mean, yeah, Charlie and Abel would be born on the same day at closest and a few months apart from each other at farthest.) I would also imagine that Eve dislikes both Lucifer and Lilith (pretty much disliking Lilith moreso than disliking Lucifer); Eve even mocked Luci when they were both pregnant with Charlie and Abel respectively. Lilith would defend the crying Lucifer and call Eve out on hurting her pregnant hubby's feelings and demand that she apologize, but Eve refuses. Likewise, I imagine Eve acting arrogant and prideful about her title/role as the Mother of All Life, and part of this would be Eve being a proponent/believer of claims and myths that depict Lilith killing babies and representing the dark, bad, and negative aspects of motherhood (e.g., post-partum depression and rage/psychosis, miscarriages, stillbirths, infant deaths (including infanticide), injuries due to childbirth, etc.) and even assuming that Lilith would be hopeless as a mother and have little to no appreciation and love for the baby (regardless if the baby would be alive/be born and live a long life) and would refuse to even hold the baby in her arms and overall not being a good mother is Lilith's nature (if not, part of Lilith's nature).
But as it turns out, Eve's wrong.
Lilith is actually a wonderful, loving, attentive, nurturing, gentle, and doting mom to Charlie, even as early as when Lucifer concieved her. In fact, regardless of whether Charlie's birth went smoothly or was a rough and complicated one, she was right by Lucifer's side the whole time from the moment his water broke signaling that he was going into labour. And yes, the birth left both Luci and Lily a hysterical mess, but they were relieved that the baby was alive. Once things finally quieted down, Lilith would be the first to hold her. When the newly born Charlie was handed to her, Lilith was so stiff and gingerly, terrified of doing something wrong that could harm the baby. But once she finally got a chance to properly see Charlie, Lilith is thinking: "You look just like your daddy... *starts tearing up* So why do you dare to be the most perfect thing I've ever seen?" And Lilith is just bawling like mad with tears of joy streaming down her face, which naturally makes Charlie cry. Lucifer is exhausted, but he looks over at the two, and has a pained but genuine chuckle before crying as well now that his beloved wife now has two crying babies in her life to love. After finally processing Charlie’s crying, Luci would be apologizing like mad while he and Lily try to soothe her, eyes still full of tears, a sight that touches both mom and dad but also spawns more pained laughter from Lucifer.
Meanwhile, Eve is still making her accusations, and unfortunately she gets so carried away with making assumptions about Lilith and painting her as an abusive, narcissistic, evil mother when really she's actually not, Eve ends up ignoring Abel. Well, Eve was present when Abel was born (as her only focus at the time was giving birth to him), but she went right back to talking crap about Lilith the next day. Cain ignored him as well. And what about Adam? Well, Adam was also present when Eve gave birth to Abel, but he did almost all the work of caring for him while Eve was busy poo-pooing about Lilith and that Lilith is a mom now. But then about a month later, Adam was like, "Meh; I'm tired." So, Abel was left to be raised by a nanny (possibly Sera) throughout most of his life. (Yes, I theorize/headcanon that Abel was born in Heaven instead of on Earth.) Eve secretly doesn't mind being called a bad mother (especially after what happened with her and Abel); and likewise, Eve is even a little proud of it.
Anyway, that's all folks.
