         ❝  well,  if it isn’t miss ellie miller !  ❞   the other girl,  much like her own,  seems to get bigger each time she sees her.  maybe that’s a mom thing,  but it strikes her with the same nostalgia each time.  the miller family is welcomed to the diner with open arms each time they decide to visit.  so was every customer,  of course,  but not many regulars got greeted by the owner herself with a literal hug ready.   ❝  i haven’t seen you in,  what,  three weeks  ?  n’ look at that,  you’re already sproutin’ up like a weed.  you’re gonna be taller than me in a  MONTH,  tops.  ❞  

                     ❛    i doubt anyone has ever bowed to a graceling, my lady. worry not.    ❜        his mouth tilts into an jovial smile, looking down towards the younger girl and attempting not to seem condescending. he could sense her apprehension towards him, the anger beneath it all. the people around him never knew what they were really saying to him.
