“Your skills in combat truly are marvelous.” Geumjae, a Spirit as warm as the fire he represented, helped himself to a hulking trout. “How do you manage all of this alone?”

EunYang shrugged awkwardly, humming his thanks. “It is really just a day’s worth, this was no ordeal.” Having been deemed sickly in the physical realm due to his dull, uniform coloration, he held a quiet pride in his prowess in combat after training with Avery in the Spirit Realm. “This is quite standard for spending a day training Bridge Soldiers.” Training the Bridge Soldiers, sending them off, and bringing in food on top of that satisfied him immensely, even if his duties as a Cardinal Spirit were onerous often left for EunBi to take care of. And of course, knowing EunBi, that meant that she found the easiest solutions possible, par for the course when it came to the wind.

“Please accept this as our thanks!” Bokbunja and Blueberry offered up some of their personal foraging stock to him. “We’ve always really admired you and we’re so grateful you taught us how to fight!”

The silver Spirit had no idea how to respond, and mumbled his thanks while moving to place the fresh fruit in the food pile. Seeing her mate about to make a colossal social gaffe, EunBi stepped in just in time to see the distraught looks on the younger dragons’ faces.

“Honey, these are for you, not the party.” She nosed him teasingly, gesturing to the two fruit spirits. “The berries are a gift. Sorry for the confusion, Blueberry, Bokbunja. He’s not used to getting presents from other Spirits.”

“Oh that’s okay! We just hope you like them! We found a small cluster hiding away just as we were heading home and they looked and smelled so nice.”

“That was very… sweet? Of you.” He looked from the eager Spirits in front of him to his mate, who nodded to him encouragingly. “I have never received gifts from others before, so this flatters me very much. I was only teaching in my capacity, so I appreciate that you learned valuable skills from me. You are skilled at foraging as well as combat.” The fruit Spirits beamed at him before excusing themselves to enjoy the party.
