ā Mikado
"It must have been⦠lonely to be Mikado."
She knew that she shouldnāt say much about what she meant. Even if Mikado was dead it was bad for his memory to release information that he in life kept only for those that he trusted.
"It must be lonely to be the only person of your kind. Can anyone really say that they knew another person like Mikado? Can any of you point out another person in this city as willing to give up pieces of himself for his friends and the people that he cared about, and at the same time rarely take anything for himself?
"I thought he was too shy. I didnāt like how modest he was. I think that people deserve to be given credit where they are do, and I think society should be ashamed of itself for convincing people that theyāre not allowed to revel a little in the credit they are given.
"When did it become a rule that people werenāt allowed to be proud of their good deeds?
"Itās a pity that Mikado had to die for all of this to be said about him. Itās a pity that he never got the chance to be just a little arrogant and stand up for himself and the good things that he did.Ā
"I wish society was able to learn something from this but in reality even this moment will fade away, and no more than a handful of people will ever remember Mikado, or what was said about him.Ā
"All a person needs is a handful, though. All he needs is for just one person to keep him alive, and if that person has to be me then thereās more than enough room in my imagination for someone like him."Ā
