THE LAKE HAS BECOME ONE of her favorite spots on campus to get away from it all, especially with the warmer weather coming on. “ pop a squat, bestie !! ” momo teases daxton, patting the space beside her. their time spent at the carnival together was actually fun, at least in her eyes. to be honest, it took a bit of elbow grease to get him to warm up to her, but she’s happy to have succeeded nonetheless. “ now, i know what you’re thinking, ‘momo, you look really cute today. but also, less importantly, what’re we doing out here ??’ ” the blonde laughs softly, before continuing, “ and to that i say..for one, thanks, that’s so sweet, and two, i dunno !! this is kind of my favorite place, and i never really get to share it with anyone, so.. ”

          there’s a comforting warmth in losing, a reminder that old dogs don’t learn new tricks. agility is a blessing to some athena children, but jax never received such blessing, to put it kindly. basketball reminds him of american jocks, letterman jackets shoving chess players, like himself, against metal lockers, so his reason for choosing the game ? the shortest queue time. after making one basket out of five, he laughs, tilting his head to the side. “ i could explain to you the physics of basketball, but i guess knowing theory and putting it into action are two different things, huh ? ” if it weren’t for jax’s diazepam lifting the mood, he would’ve departed hours ago. well, that, and running into dax. “ i can’t believe they threw a whole carnival to celebrate my return, ” he attempted to joke, inflection mirroring that of a class presentation.
