People often ask me what one of my biggest fears is, working in the events industry and to be quite honest, one of my biggest fears if not my biggest, apart from uncontrollable bad weather conditions, is working with an individual whose input to the production of my event isn’t up to my standard of delivery. It’s sad to say that most of the time that I have had to apologise to a client for an event not being delivered to expected standard is because a vendor or team member didn’t deliver as per expectation or on agreed time but of course we take the whole blame and this is right because we are the client’s vendor not the 3rd parties. So to avoid that as much as possible, I am very particular on the vendors I use for my events. That is not because Think Mahogany Events think they are of a class that cannot be associated with but because it is often even beyond the decision influenced by capability, ability, cost and popularity. It is highly influenced by prayer!!! Until my spirit is at rest with the vendor, I won’t take that chance! Let me be blunt with you. The enemy will use whoever is available to stress you and bring you to ruins. But not when you are in tune with the prayer frequency. Pray over the people you work with. Vendors and Staff! When you allow the wrong instrument into your space, no matter how solid your brand is, you are exposing yourself to failure. Recently I asked myself a question. DO BRIDES AND GROOMS TO BE, PRAY ABOUT THE VENDORS THEY PICK FOR THEIR ENGAGEMENT AND/OR WEDDING CEREMONY AND/OR RECEPTION BEFORE SETTLING ON THEM? So many people are so hooked on Social Media hype that they forget some important fundamentals. Yes! Service Quality is king. Affordability is queen. But does this person have the right spirit to be involved in such an intimate, sacred and important day of your life? Try this: “Dear God, I put my marital prep plans into Your hands. As I look for my vendors, please lead me to those who are spiritually aligned with you and with good hearts, as their hands will be in the beginning of my marital journey. May they bring the much needed additional blessing I need. Amen” I like their work, They are within my budget, Let me take it to the Lord to confirm if they are the ones for me. If I get a no, then God please give me the one. If I get a yes, then God please use them to be a blessing to my marriage and everyone at the event. Amen! So I decided to randomly message @norbertkdadson today with this question. He didn’t ask me why either. Honesty: you are very transparent and honest when it comes to business dealings. 2. Foresight: I’m a big generational dreamer/ thinker and you compliment that, you never say No to my ideas no matter how absurd or impossible they may sound. 3. Why do #brides wear a #veil ?
