"But ladies and gentlemen," Shaykh continued, the pink chalk tracing the diagram he drew on the board, "The task of a true leader, as we have since discovered, is to achieve people through results! All of us, we have been looking at leadership the wrong way! We think we are empowering people but in reality we are using them as tools to get what we want - results. We have a department called 'human resources' without realizing that the word 'resource' itself implicates that we use it till it's sapped dry, and then we throw it away.
