okay, the end of the etney saga.
we are here at last. as you may know, @jammyscribbler has let me use their wonderful etney in my dnd campaign as an npc and she’s had a lot of fun there (posts 1, 2 and 3). well, the campaign has ended and at the end of it we followed up all the loose ends - including ribbdiggery’s massive crush on fellow dragonborn etney.
there was a wedding (you can see where this is going) that the party was invited to. they had a spare ticket. ribb approached her, very nervous, and asks if she would like to accompany him.
etney: *in a sort of welsh, sort of scouse accent* like... a date?
ribb: i mean... only if you want it to be
etney: ah, well, uh - i would prefer it if we went as friends
ribb: oh- yes-well-that makes sense- you- we-
etney: because i’m really, really gay
ribb’s player went completely silent and then sighed really loudly. i’d told every other player at the table that etney is gay about three months before, so they all started laughing and rolled to see if their characters had any clue that etney was gay. they all rolled really high and it was just ribb that was oblivious.
anyway, she had a nice time at the wedding and she and ribb turned out to be really good friends in the future-skip epilogue. they probably meet every tuesday for brunch.
