i feel like i should also say while i love and enjoy both ccs, im more of a bdubs fan than an ethogirl so i might be biased in some of my interpretations !

^tbh i don't see the connection right away. i'd love to hear your thoughts on it though! here are mine.

^i see this as them doing a sort of back and forth. will they continue, knowing it'll end in tears and heartbreak? but even though they know the ending, it's not set in stone. they don't know the specifics.

"it's open season on blue moods, light from a screen of messages unsent, it was an uphill battle"

^oml do NOT get me started on unsent messages... how many times did either of them start typing only to close the window..

^i think they 100% will zone out and think about things they shouldnt (both mundane and nsfw) while on call with each other)

^this seems like its from etho's pov, thinking his confession is a waste of time because bdubs already has a family and a picket fence. don't bother worrying about it, he's not that attatched. its not that deep.

^i love how this can be seen as specific to either of them. like on bdubs' side its a shot in the chest BECAUSE he thinks about etho as he falls asleep. on etho's maybe he's fine with the late night thinking, but he has Feelings every time they speak.

"wanna know everything about you and tenfold, but who am i kidding. so does everybody else, like. i guess it's fitting that i want you to myself when i'm not special in my love for you."

^back to it generally fitting either of them. they're both content creators so neither of them are special for loving the other and wanting to know more.

actually bdubs has more irl content on his channel, so i would argue that this is more from his perspective since he wants to know more about etho. and he's definitely not special in his love and his want for more, theres plenty of people on the server who are fans of etho, along with every ethogirl ever lol

"blow up my world if you asked me to, burn bridges down and get stuck with you. but you're tired now and you're leaving soon, so i shut down my thoughts of you."

^i think this is so interesting because to me its "ill do anything for you" and then someone logs off the server and you kinda just have to shut that down as soon as they do, if that makes sense?

"if there's something underneath, will you come with me when i sink? far away, somewhere at sea, just you and i, down in the deep."

^this reads to me as "i acknowledge that we have something, are you willing to explore this vast ocean of unresolved feelings with me?" type thing.

^i haven't heard this song in a hot minute. it totally fits!

^this was a little bit of a challenge, but i see it as either their mindcrack or hermitcrack servermates (or even guude ((curse his name)) during the ooge days) stealing the other person away, as well as stealing time from them.

^i see this as them dancing around each other, something they've never done before (with another man, probably) and its something they don't talk about. something they /shouldn't/ talk about. dancing is a metaphor for whatever they have going on, in this case.

"the only thing i feel is pain, caused by absence of you. suspense controlling my mind, i cannot find my way out of here. i want you by my side, so that i never feel alone again."

^i feel like thats pretty self-explanatory. no further elaboration needed.

^this one is pretty easy. they've been in orbit around each other since 2011. thats pretty much a thousand years.

^to be honest i feel like its also pretty self-explanatory (i hope thats not just me being lazy..!)

but in all seriousness, its talk about domestics, which is a sort of a taboo for ethubs in mind. i see it as a back and forth between them.

someone saying "can i get your number? can i get you into bed? when we wake up in the morning will you give me lots of head?" and instead of personal reassurance, (ex. "/i/ will") its a generalization. "/everybody/ wants to love you," is the response that comes repeatedly, walls up a mile high. if that makes sense?

^ooou i like this one. its interesting.

"good god, you're in my kitchen. it's been so long, don't we look different? you said, "lets go dancing," fall asleep in my room, is this habit or something i shouldn't do? yeah, that was a close one."

^okay so my first thought was that ethubs met up a long time ago, and this is set in the future after that, but the more i think about it the more im leaning towards this is the first time they're meeting, they're just so different from their old 2011 online selves. also dancing as a metaphor for something else? again? possibly? anyways, who knows what they got up, dancing and falling asleep in the others room.. that was a close one.

"we were really going through it, guess we dodged another bullet. we know that we're happier."

^maybe they got close in previous years, but didn't pursue anything due to _ reason, and they dodged a bullet. now in the present time, its the right time, and they're happier.

"careful, dont come any closer. you should go home... or stay on the sofa. fuck it, lets go dancing. fall asleep in my room, this can't happen. guess i'll just see you soon."

^still cautious around each other, but fuck it lets go 'dancing' <- whatever that means lol

^WRONG its not the right time. and it probably never will be. they keep getting close to making it official but its /never/ the right time, and they always dodge the 'bullet.'

^this one strikes me as an etho song, weirdly enough. he's either very heavily aroace OR just inexperienced.

for the aroace argument, ive got "give me an inch, ill postpone it," "any chips or nuts for the hostage?" "so what the fuck did i miss? why the fuck did we kiss?" "i got weird when we made out, clearly i've got shit to figure out. baby, baby, please don't hate me." on the inexperienced side, "it'll feel like a movie (maybe)" "a pep talk in the bathroom, do i down gin, stick to water?" "what a goddamn kiss to think about, poured a drink al over my wiring, short a fuse, all cylinders firing." "guess 'hot goddamn mess' is your type then." "call me up again, i won't get weird." "thats the old me, god forgive her."

to be honest, i think aroace wins here, but thats my opinion. i'd be really interested to hear your opinion on this one!

^to be honest this one strikes me as more of a hermitcraft characters ethubs song, than an ethubs rpf song. i'm actually going to switch it up and interpret this through the lens of the characters.

^so they're definitely living together on the server. they've stopped dancing around each other, and gotten together.
