Emilia had managed to secure an internship with SPVM at the start of the term, and originally, she’d been ecstatic. However, after a bland orientation, her shifts had turned into coffee bringing, file sorting and the occasional fingerprinting. It was almost as if no one trusted her to do anything but the most basic of tasks... ones that a trained monkey could even excel at. Eyes narrowing at her supervisor, she let out a small breath. The man's entire demeanor had changed towards her the moment she introduced herself, which for a people pleaser, did bother her. Emilia! The man cast his gaze on her like a gorgon, voice just as shrill as ever. Bring this paperwork to detective Parker’s office.
Parker’s office... oh. Oh. Why was it that the Montreal Police Department resembled more of a modeling agency than the usual donut wielding officers back home. No wonder the crime rate was on the rise, getting arrested by one of them was probably a life-changing experience. Grabbing the manila folder, she started to make her way to the office. Was she nervous? Maybe her jitters were coming from the coffee... or maybe the fact that this was the most exciting thing she’d done all day.
The moment she opened the office door it hit that probably a knock would’ve been polite. Or at least a glance to check if the room was empty. Stupid. Standing in the doorway she realized a little too much time had passed of her staring like an idiot and not saying anything to make the moment not awkward. “Papers. Paper... work. I mean- Not like the papers working since they’re inanimate... and that’s uh... well that’s impossible.” Great. “Hi I’m sorry I swear I can talk. I have paperwork for you...”
