please be judicious with factionalized pre-release packs. they make me want to skip the pre-release. I want to come and have fun, not do ton's of homework so I don't make the "wrong" choice.

I, along with much of R&D, including the creative team, have read it and it has spawned numerous conversations.

Where does kamigawa fall on the "R&D mistakes scale" (Urza's scale?)
I feel it was our poorest designed block in the history of Magic.
why the heck does your commander group have a rule that enforces a die roll on planechase? I've played many times and I don't recall ever getting stuck on a plane because one person really likes the plane.
We play with a full shared planar deck. One of each plane and phenomenon. We don’t have individual decks. We most often play with 3 or 4 players, meaning that there are less opportunities each round for the plane to change without the enforced roll.
The most honest answer, though, is that we’ve played it both with and without the forced free roll, and we like it better with the free roll. It makes the game less prone to stalling or feeling stale. We play Planechase Commander for a change of pace, and it’s more fun when that pace never really has a chance to settle into something predictable.Â
It may not be for every play group, but I highly recommend trying the forced roll for at least a couple of games.
If I target Zada with confront the unknown, with additional creatures X and Y in play, what are my choices regarding how big each creature gets?
When Zada’s trigger resolves, you can stack the copies targeting X and Y in either order.
Assuming you control no clues already and that you don’t sacrifice any clues between copies of Confront the Unknown resolving, then you can have X get +1/+1, Y get +2/+2, and Zada get +3/+3 or you can have Y get +1/+1, X get +2/+2, and Zada get +3/+3.
The original copy of Confront the Unknown that targets Zada will always resolve last, so she’ll get the biggest buff.
