the thought of suguru asking shoko to join him has so much potential and intrigue imo because first and foremost you have to acknowledge the fact that he didnât in canon, and what the reason for that may be (was she too skilled at hiding her own fatigue and distress and trauma? had she always been, long before the star plasma vessel mission? did suguru simply respect her too much to think she could understand his line of thinking?)â then comes the question of why he would bring her with him in this canon divergent scenario. the obvious answer is he cares for her and wants to give her a way out. another answer, that would not in any au take priority over the former but still needs to be taken into account, is how invaluable shoko is to have as an ally with her reverse cursed technique in mind. she gives him a clear advantage not in eradicating non-sorcerers but in protecting his own, which is just as much his mission (more so his mission. imo). but that in itself creates a kind of dichotomy where i think a part of suguru might want her to stay at jujutsu high where she can protect and heal future and current generations. he isnât cruel enough that heâd tell her to stay if he knew how much she hates the responsibility that comes with that (the isolation and desensitization) but i definitely think he considers itâ selfishness (he wants her with him. he wants people by his side) and care for her wishes would tip him over.
the most important question of all though is how shoko would respond. especially since we know that sheâs the kind of person who doesnât ally herself with one side explicitly but rather leans towards what the people sheâs closest to believe in. (we know this from akutamiâs comment about her and gojo). <- extra interesting because does she consider herself closer to suguru, or jujutsu as a whole? to gojo and yaga and utahime? would she decide to finally be a little selfish and do what she herself wants? does she know what that is?
