Establishment codes don't get talked about enough considering how much damage they can do.

Every non-EU facility producing food of animal origin for the EU needs an approval number, this code, listed inside TRACES NT under Regulation (EC) 853/2004. If the facility isn't on the current list, your whole shipment can get held or rejected. And the annoying part: authorities can delist a facility with almost no warning, so a code that worked last month might not work today.
