The horror sci-fi bent of this issue is also pretty amazing. Kirby knocks the art out of the park (duh) with the dark, brooding style. This style is largely abandoned during the course of the initial six issue run, as the book seems to have an identity crisis early on. It would have been interesting to see Stan and Jack keep going down the horror path instead of slowly sliding into the superhero genre.
