An important skill for any barista to have is the ability to make the perfect espresso shot. It's what many coffee drinks are built on.
Ingredients: 1 shot of espresso about 1 ounce. Freshly roasted coffee beans. Filtered water.
Instructions: Grind the coffee beans until they are as fine as table salt. Warm up your portafilter and espresso machine. Put 18 to 20 grams of coffee grounds into the portafilter. Spread and press the grounds out evenly to get a consistent extraction. Start the extraction process and lock the portafilter into place. A 1-ounce shot of espresso should be ready in 25 to 30 seconds. Serve right away and enjoy!
