#INSTAHIBIT - Worlds First Community Exhibition of iPhone Art

...we will start around 8pm hanging and designing our #Instahibit at Blinis Espressolounge!

I just right now talked to Gregor, the manager here: we'll get a key to lock the Cafe after we finished tomorrow night. Konstantin, who will be on service here tomorrow, will probably help with the hanging system. And we will coordinate togeter with Villard Salibi today to get a smooth transision from their great Photographics to our Instagr.am Pictures done.

It really looks like, it will happen this week... amazing! I'm getting slowly slowly more and more excited... ufff!

... People are finding creativity for the first time, with their cell phone's tiny camera. On the Instagram iPhone app alone, well over a million users have published millions of images. Significant, since Instagram launched only four month ago. Even more suprising, many of these images are verging on fine art quality.

And an #instahibit is a unique way to take some of these great pictures out of the iPhone into the notice of a more general public. Our first approach, started on sunday, resulted in overwhelming feedback from the instagr.am users, that we've invited to participate. Thank you so much for your engagement and your feedback. You all made our days!

These are the first supporters of our #instahibit idea. To keep some excitement, the suggested users and pictures will stay within the iPhone for now. ;-)

Our first bunch of frames arrived today as well, it will get unpacked and assembled for aesthetic and handling tests as soon as possible. And yes, we have a draft of our #instahibit flyer... taaddaaaa!!!

We are looking happily forward to everything more to come...

 Bunch of Squares is about making social networking more social. A chance to remember that face to face, is still the best way to spend time with friends.

This, I'm just going to send to my favorite instagr.am users:

"you are invited to the first @instagram exhibition in berlin. we will exhibit in a kreuzberg located cafe. the printing costs got donated by @deparom already and if any pics get sold, the money goes to rotary-berlin-international.de if you are interested, please send your pictures via instagram link (press the "..." button next to the pic) to me [email protected] I would be more than happy, if you would support this unique event.

We are able to print 100 instagr.am pictures from different users, thanks to @deparom the company I'm working for.

We will print digital inkjet in a 30 x 30 cm square format, we still investigate the best store to do the prints.

We will put the prints in black wooden 40 x 40 cm frames from Max Aab - Bilderrahmen aus Holz.

Each picture gets a sticker with the @instagram user name and the date of publishing picture in instagr.am .

The exhibition vernissage will be at 2nd of March 2011 after 8pm the official closing hour of the Cafe Espressolounge. We will hang the pictures in the evening/at night of 1st of March to 2nd of March.  The exhibition will be there for at least 8 weeks!

We are more than happy, to announce that @jun3 is the first instagram user, who is donating couple of her pictures to be part of the #instahibit. Thank you a lot, @jun3 we truly appreciate your support!

If anybody wants to buy one of the pictures? We are planning to sell them after the #instahibit is finished, but we decided to donate every single cent to support the charity projects of the Rotary Club Berlin-International.
