The last three years I have read a medieval horror book in the month of July. I don’t know what it is about the heat that makes me desire to scare the shit out of myself. Or the fact that I am deeply addicted to the idea of knights experiencing the Horrors ™️, but Medieval Horror is summer is just something else, and its so right.

I think I love it as a sub category to folk horror. The way it really puts you in the oddest places and find horror often in the loss of faith, which as an atheist who loves medieval history and understands how integral religion was to most people of the past, I find it fascinating!
