ooooh okay okay this is a hard one there are too many options. i'm torn in so many directions b/c S. or Brethren or After the Revolution or W&G or the High King's Golden Tongue. and they are all soooooooo good. but....i'm gonna go with Horseman: A Tale of Sleepy Hollow by Christina Henry i think? It's about the grandson of Brom, who starts investigating the murders of children in sleepy hollow. it's not particularly scary but it does have some spooky moments and it is extremely atmospheric. I felt like I could smell the fallen leaves and feel a crisp autumn breeze every time i opened the cover. the MC is also trans, and i've read other reviews by people who are exasperated by often he keeps repeating that he's a boy but like. if you're trans you know that's just How It Is lmao, especially some flavor of transmasc. it felt real and grounded in a narrative thats otherwise a bit dreamlike.

Jill/Sheva Fav Female: Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine!Fav Male: Chris Redfield is my little manly munchkin. I also have this odd love for Forest even though he’s dead in the games and has no personality beyond fanon. RUN FOREST RUN. Least Fav Female: I don’t really have one? Resident Evil introduces one character and then kills them the next (or forgets about them), so really, no one has stuck around long enough to annoy me. Maybe Helena, just because she was a new character who didn’t do much, and took away from an established character’s story (Leon). Not her fault, of course, but she seemed awkwardly placed?Least Fav Male: See above. Maybe Birkin because he was a neglectful dick to Sherry and was also insane. Why I joined the fandom: Played the games, loved the silly-ness, but also was drawn to Chris’ character and felt I could ‘do more’ than the games allowed. PTSD angsty soldiers ahoy!
