All the good things people are saying about Orion 2026 are true. And i have a feeling im not gonna get time to really put my thoughts into writing for some time, so for now i just want to say
MY GIRL DESDEMONA !!!!!!!!!!!! She's here, she's beautiful, her robes are flowing, she's kinda pissed at Metron but still loves him even though yeah maybe she shouldn't. But alskfjdlal GENIUS MOVE to reinvent her as Orion's governess. Brilliant. Galaxy brain.
And little Esak. He wasn't much more than a couple cameos but idc I still like seeing him. Obvs in an Orion book we aren't going to go into the depths of the Metron-related characters, but the fact he was even present really fills my heart.
And Metron was written so well in this! When Barda had come out I was kinda lowkey hoping to see what Ngozi's Metron would be like. There was a chance since in the original he was in Scott's escape story, but alas. But here in Orion, Metron had so much page time!! Not me absolutely yelling with glee in the car on the way home from the comic book store. Maybe when i do get time to write up more thoughts I'll do a Metron-specific post too. Btw his eyebrows are looking fantastic.

feels like eons ago already but JSEK having esak be the stand-in for “whiny jack kirby fans who hate change” is still very funny to me... like i know i know he’s just the obvious choice for who to turn evil but esak was NOT having a good time in kirbys new gods. pretty sure after his FP introduction he does not have a single break until the 80s or 2000s well after other writers had done their thing to the series
